PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical therapy is amazing.

I was crippled four weeks ago by my own stupidity. My hamstring on my right leg was torn and the MCL on my knee was injured. These injuries are also related to muscles in my lower back being strained.

My doctor recommended I go to for physical therapy. He wrote out a prescription and gave me a list of physical therapists, one of which was near my neighborhood. I went there that day to begin treatment.

My physical therapist is a guy named Brian Smith. My first day of treatment was also his first day back on the job after his recovery from knee surgery. He took me into his office and asked me to move my body to see what I could do and also manipulated both legs to pinpoint the injury. Whenever I felt pain he noted it and was able to diagnose what muscles and joints were involved so he could treat them effectively.

If I played pro football, and sustained these same injuries I'd be treated every day in order to get back into the game as soon as possible. As it is, I see my physical therapist about twice a week.

He contorts my right leg into positions that make it feel good. He frees up any pain I might have while at the same time having me do exercises to strengthen muscles needed to help my body heal.

If you have pain caused by muscle or joint injury, physical therapy is a miracle. I've gone from being barely able to walk to standing upright and moving my legs and hips without feeling any disabling strain. If you’ve tried everything to get you moving again, see a physical therapist. They'll diagnose your condition and let you know if they can help you heal. If they can't, they'll send you to someone who can.

I've been to chiropractors before and have never gotten any relief from what was bothering Me., Same with acupuncture. But this time it's different. The pain is subsiding and the healing is progressing just fine. For me, physical therapy has helped me recover in ways I could never have imagined. It might be the answer for you as well.
