NATURAL INGREDIENTS

I see this all the time. “Contains natural ingredients". I assume it would since I've never seen a product advertised that contains unnatural ingredients. That’s because there are no unnatural ingredients. Everything is natural.

Oil is natural and so is slime. There's nothing on the planet that isn't natural. Everything we possess, use, or operate is natural. Cars are made from natural ingredients. So is jet fuel.  So are Cheerios. Everything we have comes from the earth. Even we do. Our parents digest food, breathe oxygen, and reproduce. The stuff that goes into making a single human cell is all natural.

We mix natural ingredients with other natural ingredients and make new ingredients. Steel comes from the earth and so does house paint. Prozac comes out of the ground. So does soda and the aluminum can that contains it. All natural.

I think what people mean when they talk about natural ingredients are things that are non toxic to human beings. Natural ingredients have more to do with the product being edible and nutritious for humans to consume than it does with its origin. A can of turpentine is certainly something that would be unnatural for humans to drink so therefore I suppose we can say that it's an unnatural act to drink turpentine. Turpentine is a natural substance but it's just not fit for human consumption.

The same argument occurs when people discuss organic foods versus food that’s grown using chemicals. . While one may taste better than the other, both of them remain organic, we don't consume anything that isn't organic. Even if we ate light bulbs, we'd still be eating something made from something produced by the earth. The planet began as rocks and steam and from that we have life. So it's possible to say that the something we believe to be inorganic is in truth organic except we can't see it move or evolve. A rock may move but it does it so slowly that we can't see it happening.

So when you watch television just remember that the screen and the guts inside of it and the wires that plug into the wall are all natural ingredients. They all came from the earth. And when their time is up, back into the earth they go to be converted into something else that’s still contains nothing but all natural ingredients.
