GROW UP

My job is to cruise the planet
and soak up content. I start out in the morning with an hot pot of coffee and do
this until it's time for me to go to work in the afternoon.

After a
while, I begin to sense that the world is a difficult place to live in because
we make it that way. We can't help but get involved in the business of
interfering with each others lives.

The situation between Gaza and
Israel is an example of egos going off the brink of reasonable behavior. We
assume that because it's the twenty first century that we'll all stop acting
like children and decide to respect each others issues while working to help
resolve them. Instead we resort to violence because it approximates  the
intensity of our dissatisfaction with the status quo.

I think humans
will continue to dislike each others motives until our brains evolve from that
sort of thinking. We'll continue to militarily insist that our philosophy trumps
their philosophy no matter how different and diverse our cultures are. Just
because democracy stumbles along here doesn't mean it's for everybody. Democracy
has as many pot holes in it as does any other agreed upon creed of getting
along.

Israel and Hamas won't be able to solve their differences until
they both grow up and decide that all this deadly foreplay isn't going to result
in a peaceful settlement of their grievances. They can hammer each other until
they're all homeless and then what? What's been resolved? Who's the winner? Who
gets to call the shots after that?

Both sides need to give a little to
get a lot. Thats what i get from all the media commotion surrounding this brawl.
It's too bad that at this point in civilization we haven't learned that killing
each other only postpones peace while prolonging the war.
