YOU'RE NOT NORMAL
Is anything ever normal? Are you normal? Do you consider yourself an average human being or something more exciting than that?
Have you skipped the rocks or stayed on the safe sands of the shoreline?
No one wants to be normal, although there are some among us who think being normal is a natural consequence of always being obedient.
It isn't. Normal is just as corrupt and as devious as any other level of acceptable human conduct.
Who would want to be normal? What a bore. What kind of life is it if you just exist and don't live? If you just accept things as they are and never test your boundaries, never take the essence of who you are right to the edge and look into the frightening scenery of uncertainty instead of the debilitating sloth of the comfortable and familiar?
After a while you know life bubbles up inside of you and you're going to have to do something to change the monotony of lingering doubt about it and the strange concept of fitting into some accustomed pattern of behavior in order to obey the speed limit. Nobody obeys the speed limit and those that do get run over. Life goes at its own clip no matter what the signs say. You have to move with the flow and stay alert. Watch for brake lights. Pass when it's right. Learn the rhythm of the road. Keep your mind open and absorb every inch of it.
Don't go to asleep normal. Don't wake up normal. Dance with your mind. Let it play with your head. Watch your thoughts roar through you like tractor trailers do late at night on wide open Interstates.
The astonishing secret of normal is that nothing is normal. You know in your own mind, your own internal core of truth, that you're not normal. Your thoughts don't always fit in but nobody else's thoughts do either. Applaud yourself for those things you've done that have driven you through those often frightening blockades of self imposed fear. Once you do that you'll never look at others or yourself through the same set of eyes again. You’re not normal and neither is anyone else.
